 I think artists have an ability to connect with people because they are:

• Connected with their own feelings
• They are able to express viewpoints in an inspiring way

I think these two aspects are necessary qualities of a great leadership. Culture (in any shape or form) plays an important factor bringing people together and evoking change. Most of the time, the change is good :)

So what can we learn? I believe, all leaders need to strive for to be truthful who we are and stand for. We need to be empathic human beings and forth thinking individuals.
